looks good on picture BUT....
the material of the duster surprised me because I didn't expect it to be so thin. It seems like it was cheap material. I got a medium (I'm usually size 6-8 in shirts/blouses). I think I should have got a large because the medium wasn't true to size. It was tight around the shoulder/back area. When I tried it on I couldn't stretch my arms up or forward. Very uncomfortable for me and I knew right away that I wasn't going to be able to wear this out. I didn't reach out to Midget Giraffe because I thought it wasn't going to be able to return it for a different size due to it being the final restock and limited sizes I loved the print so much I also purchased the matching draw string pants! (see separate review).
Beautiful set, but had to return it.
The set is gorgeous; however, there is no fabric forgiveness (stretch) in the pants (hips, butt) for those of us who are curvier. If there was a little forgiveness, I would have kept my set--but I had to let her go. I did not feel comfortable sitting or bending over for fear I might pop the threads. After my trip to Nigeria, I have come to accept that the fabric used for most African prints is cotton with no stretch, so the outfits won't work for me.
I wanted to love it!
Honestly I returned the duster. I felt the quality was lacking for the price I paid. The print of the material was beautiful but it was cheap and poorly made. The collar and lapels are flimsy, the sizing was off and lacked proper structuring possibly due to none or incorrect interfacing being used. If you’re seeking a quality piece that will last this isn’t it but if you just want something to wear for a one-time African themed party or event then this may work for you.
